Karunanidhi launches Ganesh to Tamil cinema


TAMIL NADU chief minister Karunanidhi launched the audio cd of the film Abhiyumnaanum at his party head office on Saturday (September 27) in Chennai, which saw majority of the Tamil film industry in attendance. A lot of prominent political figures were also seen. As he generally doesn't attend film functions, this was a rare sight.He also launched a Mumbai's very own Ganesh Venkataraman, as the new face of Tamil cinema. He spoke highly of his performance in the film. He also said that after 'Sivaji' Ganeshan, it is the next Ganesh - Ganesh Venkataraman and that he will surely go a long way in the Tamil film industry. Ganesh touched Karunanidhi's feet to seek his blessings for his film. Ganesh is paired opposite Trisha, who is currently the ruling number one actress of Tamil and Telugu cinemaGanesh spoke about his experience of the film and wished best of luck to everyone involved with the film.

He spoke about his transition from modelling to televsion and then from television to films and also added that language shouldn't be a boundary for any artist. Ultimately, it is the story and emotions that win the hearts of audiences. Ganesh was last seen in the serial Antariksh on Star plus and also, in many TV commercials. Last year, he won the 'Seoul Drama Awards' in Korea for his 3D TV series 'Mayavi' defeatig 32 countries worldwide. Mayavi was produced by Mani Ratnam's brother GV RatnamWhat was unique was that Karunanidhi and his daughter, member of Parliment Kanmozhi released the audio of the film together as the underlying theme of the film is a father- daughter relationship. The film's producer Prakash Raj who plays Trisha's father in the film and acclaimed director Radha Mohan were also present and lauded Ganesh's performance. The film will be released on Diwali simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. The music of the film given by Vidyasagar was played, which received applause from the audience.
